Preguntas frecuentes
What are these spheres and how are they made?
They are fish pearls made by spherification from fillets of wild North Sea herring, caught to MSC sustainable fishing standards. Their black colour is achieved naturally with cuttlefish ink.
How do they differ from Moluga or Avruga?
They are the most affordable version of Spherika's herring pearls, designed for those who want an exquisite flavour at a more accessible price.
Are they suitable for people with allergies?
They contain no GMOs, flavourings, flavour enhancers, preservatives or added colourings. As they are made from herring, they are not suitable for vegans or for people with a fish allergy.
Is there a foodservice format?
Yes, there is a HORECA format for restaurant professionals: 350 g.
How does my order reach me without breaking the cold chain?
Pescaviar S.L., the company behind Spherika, takes special care with the logistics of its refrigerated products: orders to mainland Spain placed before 11:00 (Monday to Thursday) arrive in 24 h, and to the Balearic Islands in 48 h. We do not ship on Fridays or at weekends (the order would be delivered the following Tuesday or Wednesday), precisely to ensure the product always arrives chilled and in perfect condition. We do not ship to the Canary Islands.
Can I return this product if I change my mind?
No. As a refrigerated, perishable product, consumer law (art. 103 of the Spanish LGDCU) excludes the 14-day right of withdrawal for products that must be kept refrigerated. Only cases of products damaged in transit, in poor condition or with an order error are handled as incidents, with a replacement or refund, when reported with photos to general@pescaviar.com within 24 hours of delivery.
Is it a sustainably fished product?
Yes: the herring used comes from MSC-certified (Marine Stewardship Council) North Sea catches. Pescaviar first committed to this certification in 2008, with the launch of its first sustainable herring pearls.
How does its price compare with natural roe?
At €60/kg, it is a very affordable option within the fish spheres range, in line with the red version (also €60/kg) and somewhat below Avruga or Anchoviar (around €96/kg in their smallest format).
