Preguntas frecuentes

What is Keta salmon roe and how is it made?
It is wild keta salmon roe, cured in brine. Its thin skin breaks gently when bitten, releasing a burst of intense sea flavour characteristic of wild salmon.
How should it be stored?
It is a chilled product: keep it refrigerated (2–7 °C) until the best-before date on the jar, and eat it within 2–3 days once opened, always tightly closed in the fridge.
Which dishes does it go best with?
Thanks to its grain size and colour, it is perfect for garnishing and flavouring canapés, blinis, sushi and poke bowls, scrambled or poached eggs, and chilled soups or veloutés, adding a very attractive salty and visual touch.
Does it contain gluten or other added allergens?
It contains no gluten, GMOs, flavourings, flavour enhancers, preservatives or added colourings. As it comes from salmon, it is not suitable for vegans or for people with a fish allergy.
What is the difference between the 100 g and 50 g formats?
The 50 g jar is ideal for trying the product or for an appetiser for 2–3 people; the 100 g jar is better value per gram and is the recommended option for a lunch or dinner with more guests.
How does my order reach me without breaking the cold chain?
Pescaviar S.L., the company behind Spherika, takes special care with the logistics of its refrigerated products: orders to mainland Spain placed before 11:00 (Monday to Thursday) arrive in 24 h, and to the Balearic Islands in 48 h. We do not ship on Fridays or at weekends (the order would be delivered the following Tuesday or Wednesday), precisely to ensure the product always arrives chilled and in perfect condition. We do not ship to the Canary Islands.
Can I return this product if I change my mind?
No. As a refrigerated, perishable product, consumer law (art. 103 of the Spanish LGDCU) excludes the 14-day right of withdrawal for products that must be kept refrigerated. Only cases of products damaged in transit, in poor condition or with an order error are handled as incidents, with a replacement or refund, when reported with photos to general@pescaviar.com within 24 hours of delivery.
Is there a cheaper spherified version of this flavour?
Yes: Spherika salmon spheres (100 g, from €4.81) have a very similar flavour and texture at around €48/kg compared with €250/kg for this natural roe, making them a very affordable alternative for recipes and canapés where a larger quantity is needed.
When did Pescaviar add salmon roe to its portfolio?
In 2015, the year Pescaviar formally added its line of natural fish roe (salmon, trout and lumpfish) to its portfolio, becoming the leading supplier in the segment with the most complete range on the market.
Why does Keta cost more than Pink?
The price per kilo of keta (€250/kg in the 50 g format) is higher than that of pink (€199/kg), reflecting differences in size and in the characteristics of each wild salmon variety, although both share the same brine-curing process.
