Preguntas frecuentes
What makes Spherika red capelin roe special?
It stands out for its bright red colour, firm texture and delicate sea flavour. Its grains are uniform in size (approximately 1–2 mm), creating an attractive visual contrast in many dishes.
How should it be stored?
Keep it refrigerated (2–7 °C) until the best-before date on the jar; once opened, it is best eaten within 2–3 days, always kept chilled.
Which dishes does it look best in?
Thanks to its bright red colour, it is perfect for adding visual contrast to light-coloured dishes: soups, eggs, rice dishes, sushi or canapés where you want both sea flavour and a striking aesthetic touch.
Is it suitable for vegans or people with a fish allergy?
No. As it is fish roe, it is not suitable for vegans or for people with a fish allergy. Please check the jar for full allergen details.
Which format should I choose for my needs?
The 50 g jar (€2.79) is ideal for occasional use as a garnish; the 100 g jar (€3.30) is more practical if you cook with it regularly or need to cover more servings.
How does my order reach me without breaking the cold chain?
Pescaviar S.L., the company behind Spherika, takes special care with the logistics of its refrigerated products: orders to mainland Spain placed before 11:00 (Monday to Thursday) arrive in 24 h, and to the Balearic Islands in 48 h. We do not ship on Fridays or at weekends (the order would be delivered the following Tuesday or Wednesday), precisely to ensure the product always arrives chilled and in perfect condition. We do not ship to the Canary Islands.
Can I return this product if I change my mind?
No. As a refrigerated, perishable product, consumer law (art. 103 of the Spanish LGDCU) excludes the 14-day right of withdrawal for products that must be kept refrigerated. Only cases of products damaged in transit, in poor condition or with an order error are handled as incidents, with a replacement or refund, when reported with photos to general@pescaviar.com within 24 hours of delivery.
Is it an alternative to caviar or lumpfish roe?
It is another caviar substitute in the range, in line with Pescaviar's long-standing commitment (since 1997) to offering quality alternatives to sturgeon caviar, with a vivid red colour and a smaller, more uniform grain than lumpfish.
Since when has Pescaviar offered it?
Anticipating market needs, Pescaviar added this product in 2025. There is currently a worldwide crisis in lumpfish catches, so Pescaviar has added this alternative to ensure customers are not left without this product category, at the lowest possible cost.
How does its price per kilo compare with other natural roes?
At €55.80/kg, it is one of the most affordable options in the collection, similar to lumpfish (€61.60/kg) and far below salmon (€199–250/kg) or sturgeon caviar (€1,500/kg).
